Right after the change of ownership from Ceres-Negros FC to United City FC, the new organization so far has been true to their word of retaining most of the former players.
After announcing and confirming that they will be absorbing Ceres Negros’ big three in OJ Porteria, Bienvenido Marañon, and Stephan Shrock, former Ceres chief tactician Risto Vidakovic said that he will not be jumping in with the new crew.
“I just want to inform the Filipino football fans and especially the supporters of Ceres Negros that I’m not going to be a part of the United City FC. Thank you Ceres for all these years of beautiful memories,” posted Vidakovic in his Twitter account.
Since 2016, Vidakovic was the man behind Ceres FC’s success from the Philippines Football League (PFL) to the AFF Suzuki Cup.
Under the helm of the Serbian chief tactician, the busmen were able to clinch three PFL championships and seized the ASEAN Zonal title during the 2017 AFC Cup.
As of now, the United City FC has yet to announce their replacement coach following their welcome ceremony of Ceres’ big three.
