BACOLOD City – The Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) Visayas Field Unit rescued four children, including twins, after they were allegedly sexually exploited by their parents at Barangay Taculing here last Friday.
Police Captain Christine Cerbo, officer-in-charge of Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD)-Bacolod, said that a 28-year-old woman and her 35-year-old live-in partner were arrested in an entrapment operation led by WCPC.
Cerbo said that police applied a search warrant issued by Presiding Judge Fernand Castro of Regional Trial Court Branch 41 here, to seize and examine computer data, following information about the alleged sexual exploitation.
The parents allegedly allowed some persons or foreigners to bid and watch online at their children while they were naked.
Police recovered during the operation, three cellular phones, unserviceable laptop, passport, and assorted Identification (ID) cards.
She, however, did not reveal more details, pending the investigation.
Cerbo said that a six-year-old boy, a nine-year-old girl, and fraternal twins aged two were rescued from their house.
They were brought to Balay Pasilungan at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), pending the assessment of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Cerbo said the parents are detained at Police Station 6, pending the filing of appropriate charges against them.
