Four persons in Iloilo City were busted for allegedly selling a stolen electricity meter owned by distribution utility MORE Power.
The suspects were identified as Elmar Tupas, 29; Rusky Mike Robles, 29, both of Barangay Habog-Habog, Molo; Roy Reazol, 22; and Randy Occeño, 40, both of Lanit, Jaro.
Based on a report from MORE Power, Tupas used to work for the subcontractor of the city’s former power distributor.
Robles acted as the meter installer while Reazol and Occeño acted as helpers.
According to the report, the suspects sold the meters at a package price of P12,000 as it already includes an existing account with MORE Power.
The stolen meter was assigned to a household in Alta Tierra Village, Jaro but was stolen and hidden in Calumpang, Molo.
The suspects planned to sell and install the meter in a household in San Isidro, Jaro. Little did they know that they were dealing with MORE Power personnel and the police during the entrapment operation.
