After Paris Saint-German superstar Neymar was slapped with a two-game ban following a physical incident with Spanish forward Alvaro Gonzalez, things began to heat up quickly with issues of racial discrimination coming into the picture.

The match between Paris Saint-German and Marseille turned messy after Neymar slapped Gonzalez in the back of the head, claiming Gonzalez called him a ‘monkey’.

An altercation between the players from both teams then occurred at midfield resulting in the ejection of 5 players.

The French Football Federation reiterated that there is no place for racism in sports, especially in the league and will investigate the matter carefully.

“We know there was an exchange of words. But right now, there isn’t enough certainty to call in the players,” said Sebastien Deneux, president of the disciplinary commission.

In his recent interviews, Gonzalez denied the allegations thrown at him by Neymar and claimed that he didn’t say any word that alluded to the term.
