Deontay Wilder’s wish was granted but will have to wait until further notice after their scheduled July 18 rematch against Tyson Fury was rescheduled.

Following safety measures and parameters, Top Rank Promotions president Bob Arum announced that the third fight between the two heavyweights will be moved to October.

Also, one of the main reasons why the fight will not push through is the travel restriction that affects both the USA and Britain, where Wilder and Fury came from, respectively.

“You could not guarantee the fighters that the event would take place on that date. We couldn’t convince them or ourselves. Where were they going to train for it? It just made no sense. You just have to take a step back. How are you going to sell tickets? “said Arum.

With the increasing positive case count of the COVID-19, the Nevada State Athletic Commission also decided to ban all combat sports in the state, creating more problems if Arum and his crew would force the fight to happen.

Wilder filed for a rematch just a week after falling to Fury and claimed that his heavy costume was the main reason he lost in the fight, adding that wearing the suit wore him out before the fight even started and made his legs shake.

Fury then agreed to complete their trilogy and said that he was ready any time the US slugger cried for a rematch.
