Sports organization Players’ Center based in Guimaras hosted another successful basketball tournament in the province last June 10, 2023, held at the Hoskyn Gym in Jordan.

Spearheaded by current West Visayas State University (WVSU) Sports Director Dr. Richard Gabayoyo, the event gave another opportunity for aspiring Guimarasnon ballers to showcase their talent in the 3×3 scene.

The Players’ Center Independence Day 3×3 tournament was graced by 30 strong teams from all over Guimaras and treated Jordan with a highlight-filled hoops day.

Three total categories catered to the 30 teams: the 25-Under, 18-U, and the 15-U, just like the recently concluded Milo competition Guimaras leg that also catered to different age groups.

For the 25-U category, the team Bad Squad took the championship title while team SF settled for first runner-up honors.

The team GBC then ruled the 18-U category after a consistent campaign from the preliminaries while team RGJK won first runner-up.

In the last category, the 15-U, the hoopers from team Sharland raised the championship trophy. Team Smooth Grind then nabbed the first runner-up.

This is just a part of the Players’ Center’s schedule of sporting activities for the year as Dr. Gabayoyo confirmed that he still got several events lined up for the Guimarasnons.

After the 3×3 event, a series of 5×5 hoops tournaments will be hosted by Players’ Center in the following months.
