BACOLOD City – Vice Mayor El Familiaran, head of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) against the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 confirmed Monday that the house of the latest COVID-19 patient in Barangay Mandalagan here was “sealed off.”
The area was also marked as “ultra risk,” which is the 5th in the city.
The 48-year-old male patient is the 7th COVID-19 patient here with travel history to USA.
The patient was not hospitalized but is on strict quarantine and is recovering, based on a report from of Dr. Grace Tan, IATF spokesperson.
The apartment unit in the barangay where the patient lives was guarded by a barangay tanod and two policemen who were assigned on a 24/7 shift.
Tan said the patient had close contact with his 28-year-old son-in-law who also tested positive for the virus.
Although the 48-year-old patient has cough, he is in stable condition and is not admitted in a hospital, Tan added.
Aside from Mandalagan, other “ultra risk” areas that were sealed off are Prime Street in Rosario Heights Subdivision and St. Margarett Street in Doña Juliana Subdivision, both in Taculing; Banawe Street in Villamonte and Scorpio Street in Singcang.
Meanwhile, Familiaran said the number of unaccounted Persons Under Monitoring (PUM) is now down to 5.
PUM is a person who has no signs and symptoms of COVID-19 but has travel history to infected areas and may have been exposed to infected persons.
Familiaran said he was flooded with calls and text messages from persons under monitoring ( PUMs) after he gave an ultimatum on his Facebook page that he will have their names posted on social media if they do not inform their barangay health emergency response team (BHERTS) or the City Health Office (CHO) of their whereabouts.
Familiaran also threatened to file charges against them.
Earlier, CHO records showed that there were 57 PUMs in Bacolod who could not be contacted. But so far, 52 have been accounted for.
