‘Illegal drugs’ found outside Roxas City jail

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police are investigating the seizure of five grams of suspected shabu left outside the perimeter fence of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Brgy. San Jose here.

According to Jail Senior Inspector Dever Fantilaga, BJMP jail warden, the alleged illegal drugs was placed inside a plastic bag and covered with mahogany leaves.

The substance weighed around five grams with an estimated market value of P65,000.

 

The substance was turned over to the Roxas City PNP and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Capiz for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, a man wanted for violations of crime against women and children was arrested by police Thursday morning at Brgy. Codingle, Dumarao, Capiz.

Casildo Pagot, 57, did not resist when the Dumarao police served a warrant of arrest for violations of Sec. 5a of RA 9262 or (Anti-Violation Against Women and Children Act of 2004).

The warrant was issued by Roxas City Regional Trial Court Branch 14 Judge Faustino V. Roxas Jr. on March 4, 2021.

The court recommended P10,000 bail for Pagot’s temporary liberty. He is presently detained at the Dumarao Municipal Police Station.
