Iloilo City cited for Good Financial Housekeeping

Iloilo City passed the Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) component of the 2018 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

“Iloilo City has been consistent in getting the citation because we have complied the criteria in order for us to get the Good Financial Housekeeping certificate. This certificate can be used if an LGU would want to get a loan from a bank or other financial institutions,” said DILG-Iloilo City head Atty. Ferdinand Panes said.

GFH citation is awarded to Local Government Units (LGUs) which have complied with the following:

-Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) posting requirements in three conspicuous places for the last two preceding quarters as certified by the DILG Regional Director and attested by a CSO representative;

-have most recent Commission on Audit (COA) Audit Opinion, as posted in COA website, stating Unqualified or Qualified opinion; and

-have complied with the FDP Posting on the FDP Portal for the last two preceding quarters.

Panes added that among the documents posted in FDP are the city’s budget, Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA), and monthly disbursement, among others.

There were 14 other cities in Western Visayas that received the GFH certificate.

The validation for SGLG 2019 is slated in July. (Merianne Grace Ereñeta/Iloilo City PIO)
