Iloilo leaders woo top Ayala Group honcho

Top Ilonggo leaders sat down with the head of a major conglomerate in the country Thursday evening to present investment opportunities in Iloilo City and province.

Senator Frank Drilon and Mayor Jerry Treñas presented to Ayala President and CEO Fernando Zobel de Ayala the potentials of the city and province as premier investment hubs.

Iloilo Province is a first-class province while Iloilo City is one of the highly urbanized cities in Western Visayas.

The province is the food producer, provider of mineral resources, and site of human settlements and tourism while the city is the center of education, trade, commerce, and services.

Drilon and Treñas said the city and province leveled up the airport, ports, road network, power, water, mode of transportation, and services to transform the area into smart and sustainable communities.

They also cited ongoing projects such as the Jalaur River Multi-purpose project for flood control, ICARE Satellite Canters for quick emergency response, Uswag Iloilo City Molecular Laboratory for the pandemic response, Iloilo City Modular Hospitals for better healthcare, Iloilo City Hospital for the poor, Iloilo Sunset Boulevard for traffic management, rehabilitation of plazas, flyovers, and land reclamation for new industrial/commercial area.
