The pride of Sta. Barbara, Iloilo has officially announced his highly-anticipated comeback in the ONE Championship ring.
Former number one contender in the Strawweight division Rene Catalan will be squaring off against Bokang “Little Giant” Masunyane at ONE: Big Bang this Friday, December 4.
This will be Catalan’s first bout since losing to current Strawweight world champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio last year, a co-Filipino and one of the stars in Team Lakay.
Despite the long lay-off, Catalan and his team is unfazed and even bared that they are more than ready and are up to the task at hand against the insane ground game of Masunyane.
Masunyane is a South African wrestler and will be looking to bring the action to the ground where he excels.
On top of his impressive wrestling technique, the pride of South Africa is also yet to drop his first match in ONE after winning all of his seven bouts.
This will be a tough challenge for the returning Ilonggo as his veteran smarts will clash with the youth and strength that Masunyane possesses.
