Insurance manager shot dead in Pres. Roxas

PRES. ROXAS, Capiz – A manager of an insurance company was shot dead by a lone unidentified suspect Monday morning, November 13, at Brgy. Poblacion Elizalde here.

Major Rachelle Garnica, President Roxas police chief, identified the victim as Sandra Baluco, 44, of Brgy. Marita here.

Investigation by President Roxas Municipal Police Station indicated that the incident happened around 8 am.

Police said Baluco was parking her motorcycle when the suspect on another motorcycle stopped beside her and shot her four times with a handgun.

The suspect then picked up the bullet shells and hurriedly left on board his motorcycle toward Pilar town.

The victim was rushed to Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra town but she was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctor.

Baluco sustained three fatal gunshot wounds on her head and body.

Police conducted a hot pursuit operation against the suspect who was about 5 feet and 4 inches in height, wearing a red shirt and white jacket, and a face mask.

A few hours later, police found the alleged gateway motorcycle abandoned in a sugarcane field in Brgy. Dulangan Pilar town.

Baluco is the live-in partner of the newly elected punong barangay of Brgy. Pandan President Roxas town.

Garnica said that they already have a lead on the identity of the suspect and the motive behind the incident.
