Ivermectin takes center stage-5

By Modesto P. Sa-onoy

The signatories to the letter cited yesterday also said that “Ivermectin is a low-cost treatment as it only costs around P35 and is generally administered daily for three days, which means a person only needs to spend a little over P100 for the entire treatment. With the immediate availability of Ivermectin in the country, the health of the Filipinos will be protected and promoted, and the economy of the country will be restored and enhanced.”

Going further, they asked Congress “to pass the appropriate legislation or resolution to expedite the availability of and easy access to Ivermectin by the masses of our people.”

Their closing appeal is heart-rending, “Dear leaders of our country, we appeal to you, please act on our request.”

The latest report (April 7) in The Manila Times claimed Muntinlupa City Rep. Ruffy Biazon cautioning the public against buying unauthorized Covid-19 treatments or prophylactics while Valenzuela City Rep. Weslie Gatchalian stressed that “Ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug, is not a cure for coronavirus.”

Aside from mouthing the FDA and DOH they gave no reason for their blanket statements. After the news showing the effectiveness of Ivermectin, its opponents are starting to wage a propaganda war against the drugs. We can expect the billions in bobby money both in Congress and media to be increasing soon.

Before the Holy Week, I was furnished a personal letter with permission to publish it. The writer is a Filipina practicing in the United States. It is addressed to Dr. Edsel Salvana whose name I mentioned here last year as one of the advisers or consultants of the DOH aside from a long list of other professional positions and expertise. He is the Philippine institutional representative on the Global Fund Country Coordinating Mechanism that monitors the money given to a country to fight certain diseases. The organization began operations in January 2002. Microsoft founder Bill Gates was one of the first donors to provide seed-money. Gates owns the vaccine touted as the anti-C19 solution. Providence permitting we shall discuss Gates’ major role in the pandemic. Why the letter is addressed to Salvana is not stated; I guess the writer knows Salvana’s strong influence in the Philippines.

Anyway, here is the letter with a few editing for clarity.

“Hi Dr. Salvana, my name is Dr. (Marivic) Villa. I’m a practicing pulmonary Critical care/ Sleep medicine/ Internal medicine/ Functional Medicine here in Florida, USA. I practice in this town called #TheVillages. It’s the biggest retirement community in the US or I should say in the world. The entire town or metropolis is about 150K residents. Age 65 and above, the majority if not all with pre-existing comorbid conditions. They are very fortunate that they have excellent access to healthcare. I do see a lot of COVID cases. And I do treat them very aggressively in an outpatient basis.

“Since late August/early September I’ve been using or prescribing IVERMECTIN in conjunction with Supplements protocol and surprisingly!!!, since then I’ve not had any significant morbidity or mortality from this disease. Well, except 1 who was a stage 4 lung cancer s/p chemoradiation therapy; he died. And I think he died from massive PE because he just suddenly collapsed.

“In January 2021, I also started using MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY called Bamlanivimab by Elli Lily under EUA. The department of Health distributed it to us.
I also use it on an outpatient basis. I give the infusion in my office or clinic.
With this combination of IVM and monoclonal, NOBODY gets severely ill, and NOBODY gets hospitalized. I also use systemic corticosteroids very aggressively both oral and IV in an OP basis. The diabetic hyperglycemic response is very easy to manage. I worry more if they became hypoglycemic for whatever reason.

“I think the IVERMECTIN is a very reasonable option for Filipinos considering the economic conditions of our kababayans.

“From my standpoint, it is very effective, very SAFE!!! And at a very REASONABLE COST that most Filipinos can afford.

“Even with the massive vaccination effort here in the US, I still prescribe it as prophylaxis.”

Consider her declaration – none died or suffered negative reaction due to Ivermectin. How safer can one get? I heard she already treated thousands.

Continued tomorrow.
