Kai Sotto will not enter the University of Kentucky, Georgia Tech, University of Auburn, or DePaul.

The 18-year old Filipino basketball wonder decided to skip tertiary hoops and instead take his talents to the NBA G League, the same path Fil-Am sensation Jalen Green took.

Honed under the Atlanta based basketball training camp The Skills Factory, Sotto was the 62nd ranked high school prospect by ESPN and was included in the top 25 All-American high school hoopers by US sports site, Ballislife.

Sotto’s decision will invalidate his college eligibility and can no longer enter the schools that recruited him, but the G League had a promise to their young rookies.

Stated in the G League Pro Program, Sotto will “have the opportunity to accelerate his on-court development as he learns NBA-style basketball alongside veterans of the professional game while focusing heavily on life skills development.”

Previous Filipinos who joined the league were TNT’s Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and GSM’s Japeth Aguilar who are both members of the PH national team.
