After a tough battle with the COVID-19 virus, NBA star Karl Anthony Towns’ mother, Jacqueline Towns, passed away.

The COVID-19 scare started last March when Karl Anthony said that his mother was in a medically induced coma due to the complications the virus brought.

Days after the coma, his mother’s body was unable to respond to the medication given by the hospital which led to the decision to inducing the coma.

The struggle Jacqueline had to go through lasted until April 13, 2020, when Karl Anthony’s NBA team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, released a statement regarding his mother’s death.

“Jackie was many things to many people. A wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. The matriarch of the Towns family, she was an incredible source of strength; a fiery, caring, and extremely loving person, who touched everyone she met,” the NBA team stated during their release.

Meanwhile, there are still no updates regarding Karl Anthony’s father, who also tested positive for the virus last March.
