Kaya FC-Iloilo is seeking to clinch its fifth-straight win in the ongoing Philippines Football League (PFL) as they prepare for their rematch against the young and talented Azkals Development Team (ADT) on April 15, 2023, to be held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The Ilonggo booters will also look to shake off their pitch rust after taking a break from the PFL for 28 days when their last scheduled match took place on March 18, 2023.
For Kaya FC, they still can’t be complacent after their 3-1 comeback win against ADT when they found themselves down early 0-1.
Thanks to the goals of Audie Menzie, Jarvey Gayoso, and Arnel Amita who steered Iloilo to the huge win and avoid the stunning upset.
Before they took down ADT, Kaya FC recovered from their home loss against the Dynamic Herb Cebu FC and kicked off their winning streak after dumping Mendiola, 4-0.
Kaya FC then cruised to an undefeated outing in a month and swept their games against Maharlika Manila and Stallion Laguna FC before their come-from-behind victory against ADT.
As of now, Kaya FC is sitting at the no. 2 spot in the standings after rival squad Cebu completed a five-game winning streak that shoot their points up to 43.
If Kaya wins over ADT on April 15, the Ilonggos will again retake the lead from Cebu and will have the chance to improve to 15 wins and three losses.
It will then be announced if Kaya FC will still have a remaining home game at the Iloilo Sports Complex where they already played twice in the season.
Kaya FC delivered an instant win in their first home game back amid the pandemic when they edged the United City FC but failed to make it two-in-a-row when Cebu prevailed on their own turf.
