A lady ambulant vendor was arrested after police learned that she was not just selling her soap products but also suspected shabu.
Merlyn Capia, 47, of Barangay Janipa-an, Janiuay, Iloilo, was collared in a police buy bust operation 11:30 a.m. of Sept. 21, 2019 in Pavia, Iloilo.
Copia was with her 7-year-old daughter and with another 11-year-old relative.
But Police Major Niño Leonard Amar doesn’t believe that Capia used the two children in the drug trade.
The three came from the grocery store before Copia was arrested.
Members of Pavia Police Station and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) arrested Capia after she sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P1,000.
An additional 15 sachets of suspected shabu were seized from her possession.
Amar said the suspect sourced her supply in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
She met with clients at the public transport terminal in Barangay Ungka, Pavia.
Capia’s other clients are from the towns of Central Panay.
Because the suspect is not from Pavia, she is considered as a newly-identified drug personality.
Capia is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
