Man facing illegal drug raps nabbed

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 27-year-old man facing illegal drug charges was arrested by police Wednesday morning at Legaspi Ilawod, Brgy. 5 here.

The Roxas City Police Station and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Capiz collared John Jestin Uvas, 27, at his house.

The warrant for his arrest was issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Esperanza Isabel E. Poco-Deslate of Branch 19 here on February 8, 2021.

Uvas was earlier arrested and charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Uvas is presently detained at the Roxas City police station as the court did not allow him to post bail.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man wanted for attempted robbery was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Sitio Lunok, Brgy. Viscaya in President Roxas town.

Police Major Rachelle Garnica, President Roxas police chief, led the team that nabbed Mark James Dacles at his house in Sitio Lunok.

The warrant for Dacles’s arrest was issued by Judge Hannibal R. Patricio of the 1st Municipal Circuit Trial Court in President Roxas-Pilar towns on March 2, 2021.

A bail of P15,000 was recommended for his temporary liberty.

Dacles is presently detained at the President Roxas Municipal Police Station.
