BACOLOD City – A man was injured after he was allegedly mauled and hacked at Barangay Singcang-Airport here last Wednesday by two persons he only met on social media.

Wounded was Armando Aldea, 23, of Kabankalan City.

Police Major Charles Gever, head of Police Station 8, said Aldea invited the two men for drinks at the house of his 32-year-old employer, who was not home.

While they were already drinking and talking, one of the suspects allegedly hit the victim with an empty bottle while the other allegedly hacked him using a cane cutter and also hit him with an arnis stick.

The two men also allegedly robbed the house of a laptop, wrist watch, a tablet, and jewelries worth P35,000.

Gever said the victim was previously warned by his employer about his behavior of bringing strangers to the house but he did not listen until the incident happened.

Aldea suffered injuries on his face, head, and body. He was rushed to a private hospital and was transferred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.

Gever said the victim will undergo surgery. He added that they already have leads on the identities of the suspects.
