Man nabbed for ‘hot guns’

ROXAS CITY, Capiz –- A man was arrested Thursday morning, March 10, in an entrapment operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Capiz at Barangay Poblacion in President Roxas, Capiz.

Police identified the suspect as Antonio Terado Jr. of said place.

Recovered from Terado were a KG-9 rifle with two magazines and 9 live ammunitions, and a .45-caliber pistol with a magazine filled with live ammunitions.

Also recovered from the suspect was the P74,000 “marked money” including P73,900 in boodle or fake bills and P100 genuine bill, a smartphone, and a sack containing the firearms.

Terado is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and the Commission on Election (Comelec) gun ban.

He is presently detained at the CIDG-Capiz Field Office.
