BACOLOD City – A son of an alleged former top drug personality in Negros Island eluded his alleged abductors last Sunday at Barangay 1-B, Manapla, Negros Occidental despite being handcuffed.

Police Captain Jaynick Bermudez, town police chief, said the 33-year-old victim, whose name was withheld for security reasons, had just finished playing basketball at the public plaza and was about to ride his motorcycle when at least five unidentified armed persons forcibly dragged him to a black sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Bermudez said it’s possible that the perpetrators waited for the victim at the parking lot.

Bermudez said a commotion occurred between the victim and the perpetrators, who were wearing bonnets, as he tried to evade them.

“Gina tuslok daw siya batuta. Damo-damo tawo kay bag-o lang tapos hampang, pagpalag ka biktima, nalagyo naman lang sila dayon,” Bermudez said.

Bermudez said the victim ran to the police station while his hands were handcuffed.

Bermudez said the victim has no previous record in the town. His father was killed here a few years ago.
