Mayor orders temporary closure of BCGC grounds

BACOLOD City – Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia announced Monday night the temporary closure of the grounds fronting the Bacolod City Government Center due to the continuing surge of coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

The mayor said the BCGC grounds will be closed to the public from March 29- to April 4 2021.

Data from the Bacolod PIO showed that Bacolod City has 31 new cases, 23 new recoveries, and zero new deaths Monday [March 29].

Of the 31 new cases, 30 are local cases and 1 is an authorized person outside residence.

The 6,037 cases include 198 active ones.

It has been observed that the BCGC grounds continue to draw crowds especially in the afternoon and evening.

Leonardia also said that he is set to meet with resort owners for the coming Easter Sunday when people tend to go to beaches.

He appealed to the public to avoid crowded places.
