Megaworld’s Iloilo Business Park has opened a new access road in its southern portion, providing motorists and pedestrians with seamless connectivity to the newly inaugurated Iloilo Sunset Boulevard.
The Sunset Boulevard North access road directly links Megaworld Boulevard to the northern section of the four-lane, 5-kilometer Iloilo Sunset Boulevard.
Harold Geronimo, senior assistant vice president and head of public relations and media affairs at Megaworld Corp., said the road is expected to improve mobility for residents, employees, visitors, and businesses traveling to and from the 72-hectare township and nearby communities.
Sunset Boulevard North branches into two roads—the Sunset Boulevard West Link and Sunset Boulevard East Link—further easing traffic congestion in Mandurriao and providing a direct, scenic alternative route to Molo district, commercial hubs, and Iloilo International Airport.
This connection links Iloilo Business Park—the city’s central business district and a major tourist destination—to the newly developed tourism road, considered one of the most scenic projects by the Department of Public Works and Highways. The boulevard features an esplanade, dedicated bike lanes, pedestrian walkways, and viewing decks with panoramic sunset views along the Iloilo River.
With the road’s opening, motorists and joggers along Sunset Boulevard now have direct access to Iloilo Business Park.
“Our goal is to help decongest traffic in Iloilo City. This provides an alternative route for motorists,” Geronimo said.
He also announced that joggers from Sunset Boulevard can now run directly into Iloilo Business Park.
A PHP2.26-billion national government infrastructure project, Iloilo Sunset Boulevard officially opened on Jan. 24 to ease congestion along the Iloilo-Antique Road while boosting tourism and regional connectivity.
The highway starts at Molo-Mandurriao Road, connects to the Iloilo Circumferential Road, and extends to Oton-Pakiad-Mandurriao Road.
