Metro Pacific Iloilo Water, MIWD provide more COVID-19 relief assistance to Iloilo City

Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW) together with its joint venture partner, Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD), donated additional 100 COVID-19 test kits as part of its assistance to Iloilo City’s efforts to combat the pandemic.

MPIW, the water distribution company serving Metro Iloilo turned over 100pcs of COVID-19 rapid test kits through the Office of Mayor Jerry Treñas. This is in addition to over 1.5M pesos worth of relief assistance by MPIW and its affiliate bulk water supply company, Metro Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Corporation (MIB) to the city by providing test kits, medical supplies, food packs, and access to clean, potable water to front liners and health workers.

MPIW also provided water tanks and delivered free water to the city’s temporary housing sites for front liners and quarantine areas for persons under monitoring.

To help its consumers during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), MPIW also waived penalty charges for bills covering the duration of the ECQ, extended the due dates for bills payment, accepted payment through payment centers for bills with arrears, and assigned a standby crew to deal with emergency leak repairs.

Apart from this, MPIW and MIB also extended assistance to various beneficiaries in Iloilo City such as the academe, various city offices, and NGOs.

According to Mayor Jerry Treñas, the relief assistance will help support the City’s efforts of containing the pandemic and to safeguard the lives of the Ilonggos, most especially their front-liners who are at risk of contracting the virus.
