BACOLOD City – Another clash erupted between the 94th Infantry Battalion (IB) and suspected New People’s Army (NPA) members at Sitio Bulasot, Barangay Buenavista, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental yesterday.

It happened a day after the military troopers also engaged in an encounter with the NPA rebels at the same area last Wednesday which resulted in the neutralization of an alleged rebel who has yet to be identified by the Army.

According to Brigadier General Inocencio Pasaporte, commander of 303rd Infantry Brigade (IBde), the soldiers clashed again with about 10 unidentified armed men believed to be comrades of the NPA rebels involved in the August 10 encounter.

The clash occurred yesterday while the military troopers were tracking the withdrawal route of the NPA after the August 10 encounter.

Recovered from the encounter site were an M16 rifle and two .45-caliber pistols.

No casualty was reported on the government side.
