Missing fisherman in Negros found dead in Iloilo

BACOLOD City – The body of a fisherman who was reported missing in Victorias City, Negros Occidental on May 23, 2020 was retrieved from the coastline of Ajuy, Iloilo yesterday.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Negros Occidental reported that the body of 42-year-old Marlon Adigue Sr. was found floating in the waters of Barangay Nasidra, Ajuy around 5 a.m. He was identified by his relatives and his remains were brought to his hometown.

Commander Jansen Benjamin, PCG-Negros Occidental head, said that Adigue went missing when he fell into the sea after an unidentified vessel allegedly collided with their fishing boat at Arola Ajuy last Friday.

Adigue went fishing with 36-year-old Agustin Flor that day when the incident occurred, but the latter was able to go home unharmed.

Flor reported the incident to the authorities, prompting them to conduct search and rescue operation, until Adigue was found dead two days later.
