BACOLOD City – Mayor Richard Jaojoco has requested augmentation personnel from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here after nine members of the Toboso Municipal Police Station recently tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, Nocppo’s information officer, said they have no idea if Police Colonel Romy Palgue, Nocppo director, has replied to the letter-request of the mayor.

Donasco said that three personnel of the station first contracted the virus on April 4 through the municipal government’s swab test initiative, followed by six others recently through contact tracing.

Donasco said the COVID-infected policemen are asymptomatic and are now quarantined.

Donasco said that all personnel of the police stations were swabbed and six others are in quarantine also, while waiting for the results. “May mga nag negative din naman na personnel,” she said.

She said that Nocppo now has more than 50 COVID cases, with 12 active cases.
