The Indiana Pacers were all-systems-go after breaking the seven-game winning streak of the Dallas Mavericks, 133-111, in the ongoing NBA regular season on February 26, 2024.
Indiana launched its signature balanced attack that proved to be too much for the visiting team from the Western Conference.
It was a wire-to-wire victory for head coach Rick Carlisle and the Pacers after dictating the tempo and the pace of the game since the first quarter kicked off.
The Pacers dished out one of its best passing performances of the NBA season after tallying a team total of 38 assists compared to Dallas’ 15 dimes made.
Indiana also contained Dallas in the shaded lane and controlled the battle of the boards, 46-38, and also dominated the points in the paint category, 48-36.
After the Pacers clinched a slim seven-point lead at the half, they just turned on the jets in the second half and didn’t allow the Mavericks to regain their offense, holding them to a 51-point second-half performance.
Myles Turner stepped up big time for the Pacers and bagged a season-high in points with 33 markers alongside eight rebounds and an assist.
Tyrese Haliburton, Indiana’s spark plug who runs their offense to perfection, had another double-double outing of 17 points, 10 assists, four steals, and three rebounds.
Aside from Turner and Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, Bennedict Mathurin, Andrew Nembhard, Ben Sheppard, and TJ McConnell also reached double-digits in scoring.
On the other hand, despite 33 points from Luka Doncic and 29 from Kyrie Irving, the Mavericks still faltered and failed to nab its season-best record in winning streak.
