The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) clarified on Monday that it is not offering a PHP 7,000 Christmas gift in exchange for answering a survey.
In an advisory, the DSWD-6 debunked the claim, stating there is no truth to the circulating information.
The agency also reminded the public to remain vigilant against online scams, particularly those spreading on social media.
It urged people to exercise caution when opening links that are not from official DSWD accounts.
“If you encounter suspicious posts or messages, report them immediately to our official communication channels to verify if they are legitimate,” the agency advised.
The DSWD listed its verified social media accounts and website for reference:
- Facebook: @dswdserves (Department of Social Welfare and Development)
- Twitter: @dswdserves
- YouTube: @dswdserves
- Instagram: @dswdphilippines

Atty. May Rago-Castillo, public information officer of DSWD-6, suggested that the individuals behind the fake page might be attempting to collect personal data for questionable purposes.
