BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here has implemented the “no jab, no job” policy among its personnel starting Thursday, Jan 6, 2022.

This is in line with the directive of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on unvaccinated personnel.

Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, Nocppo public information officer, said that 22 of the 2,368 personnel in the province remain unvaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Donasco said that based on the guidelines set by the higher headquarters, unvaccinated policemen need to submit a negative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) every two weeks at their own expense.

Donasco said that the 22 unvaccinated personnel have comorbidities while others are pregnant and lactating mothers.

“If they will not comply, they will be asked to submit an explanation stating their valid reason, or worst they can be subjected to pre-charge investigation for an administrative case,” Donasco said.

Based on the record of Nocppo, 2,346 personnel were already vaccinated.

Nocppo logged 245 COVID-19 cases among its personnel last year. For this year, the provincial police force has no active COVID-19 cases.
