Nocppo unveils P7.2-M LGU funded projects

BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here has inaugurated some projects amounting to P7.2 million funded by local government units (LGUs).

Lieutenant General Cesar Hawthorne Binag, head of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) task force, led the blessing of the renovated St. Michael de Arcanghel Chapel, along with Colonel Romy Palgue, Nocppo director, inside the Nocppo headquarters yesterday.

According to Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, deputy public information officer of Nocppo, the chapel was built in 1987 and was renovated in August this year through the full support of Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares.

Donasco said that the Talisay LGU extended P250,000 for its renovation.

Last week, Brigadier General Rolando Miranda, regional director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6, and Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, also led the inauguration of the road concreting project and Kapanalig Hall at the provincial headquarters.

Donasco said the provincial government funded the concreting of road at the back portion of the headquarters amounting to P2 million.

She also said that the provincial government extended a budget of P5 million for the construction of the Kapanalig Hall to be used for formation and gathering of policemen.
