‘Notorious thief’ nabbed for alarm & scandal, loose gun

BACOLOD City – An alleged notorious thief was arrested for alarm and scandal and alleged possession of an improvised firearm at Barangay 32 here Saturday night.

Police identified the suspect as John Rey Aguda, 18, of Barangay 35.

Police Major Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 1, said they responded to a call for police assistance about the presence of male teenagers in the area along Rosario Street in the said village around 11 p.m.

When police arrived, they sighted Aguda allegedly carrying a weapon.

Recovered from him were an improvised firearm locally known as “pin gun”, and two .38-caliber ammunitions.

He is detained at the police station for the filing of charges for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

Sedel said Aguda was previously jailed after he got involved in several theft and robbery incidents here.
