The National University Lady Bulldogs are still the no.1 team in the 2022 UAAP Women’s volleyball tournament after extending their undefeated run to 10 wins.

Fresh off a hard-earned win against the Ateneo de Manila University, the Lady Bulldogs were consistent from the get-go and swept the University of the East, 25-14, 25-17, 25-15.

It was an offensive showcase for NU after bullying UE with their firepower led by Ivy Lacsina who tallied 13 total points built from 10 attacks.

“Sa team naman, kailangan lang namin gumalaw ng tama. Yung execution kasi namin, ‘yun yung pinopolish namin kasi nagpprepare na rin kami sa mga susunod pa na game,” said coach Karl Dimaculangan.

UE struggled to defend NU’s surging attack and failed to gain any momentum in all the three sets while failing to reach the 20-point mark.

The trio of Alyssa Solomon, Cess Robles, and Sheena Toring also contributed to the win and stabilized the NU offense every time Lacsina took a break.

Solomon matched Lacsina’s 13-point production off 12 attacks while Robles and Toring both scored 10 points apiece.

NU’s setter Lams Lamina was the architect behind their majestic offensive onslaught after finishing the duel with 18 excellent sets and was all over the place digging up UE spikes.

Ja Lana was the only bright spot for UE after scoring a team-high eight points and was limited with her production due to NU’s solid middle blocking.

With another loss against the Lady Bulldogs, the UE spikers are yet to taste a single win in the tournament and already lost 10 in a row.
