P1-M worth of drugs seized in 4 days

BACOLOD City – Policemen here and in Negros Occidental confiscated about P1,001,300 worth of suspected shabu in separate drug raids from October 16 to 19.

Of the total figure, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized P667,000 worth of suspected shabu while the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) recovered the same contraband amounting to P334,300.

A total of 26 persons were arrested, including a minor, a college student, and a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman.

Fourteen individuals were collared in the towns of Isabela, Calatrava, Ilog, and Valladolid, and cities of Bago, Silay, La Carlota, San Carlos, Kabankalan, and Victorias in the province.

Included in Nocppo’s accomplishment last week was the buy-bust operation conducted in Kabankalan City which led to the arrest of Rey Vicente, 20, of Barangay 3, an SK chairman, and his three companions at the said village last October 17. Police seized from them P160,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Mary Rose Pico, city police chief, said all four suspects were tested positive for drug use based on the results of their drug test from the regional crime laboratory.

Meanwhile, 12 persons were arrested separately at Barangays 8, 16, Granada, Handumanan, Cabug, and Tangub here.
