BACOLOD City – The Special Operations Unit (SOU)-6, PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) seized 415 grams of suspected shabu worth P2,822,000 in a buy-bust operation along Magsaysay Road in Barangay Singcang-Airport here on Tuesday night.

The subject was identified as Christine Dacumos, 36, of Barangay 2 here.

Dacumos can be considered a “high value individual” due to the large volume of drugs seized from her possession, according to the police.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, public information officer of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6, said the operation was launched after police confirmed the information they received a few weeks ago regarding Dacumos’s alleged involvement in the illegal trade.

Solis said that Dacumos’s husband was also jailed but police are checking the latter’s offense.

Police also recovered from Dacumos P1,000 cash and fake money used in the bust.

Based on the photo sent to the media yesterday during the inventory of the recovered illegal drugs, a Chinese tea packaging was also seen on the table.

Solis said they already have a lead on the source of the contraband, but he refused to elaborate.

The operation was also conducted in coordination with the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU)-6, Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG)-6, and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU).

Dacumos is detained at Police Station 8.

Meanwhile, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated a total of 1,599.142 grams of illegal drugs worth P10,874,165.60 from 29 drug pushers and 21 drug users last month.

A total of 80 cases were also filed in court for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
