P45,000 worth of ‘shabu’ seized in drug busts

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – P45,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs were seized from two persons in separate drug buy-bust operations Monday afternoon here and in Panay town.

The Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Roxas City Police Station arrested Allan Borja, 25, of Brgy. Baybay here in a drug sting operation at Barangay Banica.

Recovered from Borja were three big sachets of suspected shabu, P1,000 marked, fake money used in the bust, a cellphone and a motorcycle.

The recovered drugs was valued at P36,000.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad Jr., Roxas City Police Station chief, they tracked down Borja for a month before arresting him.

Borja admitted to the police that he was into the drug trade because of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Panay Municipal Police Station nabbed Dindo Arroyo, 23, of Tanza Gua here in a drug sting operation at Brgy. Tanza Sur.

Recovered from Arroyo were seven sachets of suspected illegal drugs, P500 marked money and a cellphone.

The recovered illegal drugs were valued at P5,000.

The two suspects are detained at the Roxas City and Panay police stations.

Charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against them.
