P804,000 worth of ‘shabu’, ‘marijuana’ seized

BACOLOD City – An estimated 105 grams of suspected shabu and 750 grams of suspected marijuana were confiscated by authorities here and in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental in the past two days.

On Aug 24, 2020, Joebern Hermosura and Fernando Tandoy, both identified as high-value targets were arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Mansilingan here.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6 Special Enforcement Team seized from the duo 55 grams of suspected shabu valued at P374,000.

The following day, high-value targets Jay Lord Lapi and Emily Castin, were also arrested in a buy-bust at Barangay 19 here.

PDEA agents recovered from them 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000.

Drug charges are being readied against the four arrested suspects.

On that same day, personnel of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) in San Carlos City intercepted at the seaport in Barangay 6 suspected marijuana leaves worth P90,000 placed inside a box of dried fish.

The contraband was shipped from Toledo City port, Cebu and was reportedly bound for San Carlos City in the province, police records indicated.
