Ang Probinsyano Party-list Rep. Alfred Delos Santos (Number 50) has actively been involved in the Special Meeting of the House of Representative for the Fuel Crisis.
Delos Santos said he has been lobbying for higher fuel subsidy for farmers and fisherfolks, aside from PUV drivers.
“Kasama po ang higher fuel subsidy para sa mga mangingisda at magsasaka, sa ilang short-term measures na iprinisinta natin sa Special Meeting ng Kongreso sa fuel crisis. Bukod kasi sa liliit ang halaga ng kanilang kikitain sa pagtaas sa presyo ng gasolina para sa kanilang bangka at iba pang equipment, maaapektuhan din po ang presyo ng mga bilihin sa patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng krudo. Sisiguraduhin po natin na patuloy ang pagbigay ng ayuda, hindi lamang sa ating mga PUV drivers, kundi pati na rin sa ating mga farmers at fisherfolks, habang isinusulong ng Number 50, Ang Probinsyano Party-list ang iba pang inklusibong solusyon sa fuel crisis,” Delos Santos said.
(We presented a higher fuel subsidy for farmers and fisherfolks as one of the short-term measures in the Special Meeting of the Congress for the Fuel Crisis. Aside from diminishing the income of our farmers and fisherfolks, the successive oil price hike affected the market prices of our basic commodities. We will make sure that financial assistance will continuously be given, not only to our PUV drivers, but to our farmers and fisherfolks as well. The Special Meetings for fuel crisis in Congress have kept Number 50, Ang Probinsyano Party-list Rep. Alfred Delos Santos from personally attending several Multi-Purpose Building activities in the different provinces last week.
One of these projects had a formal groundbreaking ceremony last Friday, March 18, 2022, in Sitio Longoyon, Tuburan, Cebu Province, a flood-prone area. The multi-purpose building would serve as an evacuation center to the community.
According to Mayor Danilo Diamante: “Everytime may bagyo, malakas yung ulan, palaging nadadaanan yung Tuburan. Kapag may sakuna, nandyan agad si Ang Probinsyano. So yung Evacuation Center ang pinaka-gamit talaga, kapag may problema. Ang laking tulong niyan. Maraming mga tao dito sa probinsya ng Tuburan ang makakagamit sa multi-purpose building na pinagawa ng Number 50, Ang Probinsyano Partylist. Pangalawa, yung TUPAD. Ang daming nakakatanggap ng TUPAD dito sa Tuburan. Maraming taong natutulungan ng programang TUPAD, na ipinapamahagi ng Number 50, Ang Probinsyano Partylist sa pamamagitan ng DSWD.”
(Every time there’s a typhoon, strong rain, it passes by Tuburan. Each time we’re struck with a calamity, Ang Probinsyano Party-list is quick to respond. The Evacuation Center will be very useful. A lot of people will benefit from the Multi-purpose building that Number 50, Ang Probinsyano Party-list initiated for the province. Second, there’s TUPAD (financial assistance for displaced workers). A lot of our people have received TUPAD during the pandemic, and have greatly benefited from the TUPAD program of Number 50, Ang Probinsyano Party-list through DSWD)

Aside from the multi-purpose building, construction has also started on a 1.5-kilometer road in the same area, Sitio Langoyon. This would aim to bring fresh produce from the area, closer and more convenient to the town’s market.
Mayor Diamante concluded: “Sa buong Pilipinas, I think 1,490 towns pero isa ang Bayan ng Tuburan na maraming binibigay na programa at tulong sa bayan naming ang Number 50, Ang Probinsyano Partylist. Lalo na ‘pag may mga kalamidad na dumating, naka-responde talaga kaagad ang Number 50, Ang Probinsyano Partylist sa bayan namin. So maraming maraming salamat sa Number 50, Ang Probinsyano Partylist!”
