BACOLOD CITY – Two persons were arrested after police operatives seized from them P380,800 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mandalagan last Tuesday.

Operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) Special Operations Unit (SOU)-6 arrested “Tabong,” 26, and “Totoy,” 46, both residents of the village.

Police Colonel Jose Roy Torrechilla, PDEG-SOU-6 head, said the operation resulted in the confiscation of a significant amount of suspected shabu weighing 56 grams.

The operation was coordinated with Police Station 3, the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG)-Visayas Field Unit, and the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU)-6.

The two suspects were turned over to the custody of Police Station 3. Drug charges are being prepared against both suspects.

In a statement, Police Brigadier General Eleazar Matta, PDEG director, acknowledged the group’s efforts to continually combat illegal drugs and encouraged them to work hard.

“Isa lang itong patunay na ang PDEG ay patuloy na gagampanan ang sinumpaang tungkulin para sa bayan,” Matta said.
