BACOLOD CITY—A painter and his friend were arrested for allegedly possessing 250 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 1.7 million during a drug bust at Purok Gonzaga, Barangay Taculing, late Wednesday night.

The suspects were identified as “Herliza,” 27, and “Judy,” 30, a painter, both residents of the same village.

The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) classified the suspects as high-value individuals due to the volume of drugs seized.

Police also recovered from the suspects a tooter, the PHP 1,000 marked money, and PHP 300 in cash.

According to authorities, Judy allegedly conspired with Herliza to sell illegal drugs. Both suspects are currently detained at Police Station 6.

In a separate operation, five individuals were arrested after the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental dismantled an alleged drug den during a bust in Barangay 19 on the same day.

Seized in that operation were several sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 12 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP 36,000, along with improvised tooters, a broken tooter, marked money, and PHP 130 in cash.
