Police Seize Firearms, Arrest Two in Negros Ops

BACOLOD CITY Police operatives seized two firearms and several rounds of ammunition and arrested two suspects during separate search warrant operations for violations of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, on March 13, 2025, in Negros Occidental.

The first operation took place at around 5:02 a.m. at Hacienda Basa, Barangay 10, Victorias City.

The subject, identified as alias Haren, a resident of the barangay, was found in possession of a .38-caliber revolver and four live cartridges.

The operation was conducted by the 605th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, with support from the Victorias Component City Police Station.

At 6:45 a.m., about an hour after the first operation, the Sagay Component City Police Station implemented another search warrant at Barangay Tadlong, Sagay City, against alias Hara, 53, a resident of the area.

Seized from the suspect were a .38-caliber revolver and six live cartridges.

“We commend the units involved in these operations and the community for their cooperation and the information provided to the police,” said Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).

“The seizure of these firearms will reduce the possibility of them being used in crimes. PRO-6 remains steadfast in its commitment to accounting for loose firearms in the region to ensure public safety and security,” he added.

The suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged with violating Republic Act 10591.
