Prevendido drug group minion falls in drug sting

An alleged underling of the Prevendido Drug Group was arrested in an anti-narcotics operation in Mandurriao, Iloilo City on May 3, 2019.

Glenn Ituriaga, 50, was arrested at his place in Zone 6, Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, at around 10 a.m. Friday.

Members of the Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU), Iloilo City Police Station 5, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 (PDEA-6) led the operation.

Ituriaga allegedly sold to an undercover operative a sachet of suspected shabu or crystal meth worth P500.

Operatives later seized from the suspect 15 additional sachets of suspected shabu.

Police Major Marlon Valencia, ICPS5 chief, said Ituriaga is considered a high value target (HVT) Level 1 drug personality.

Police tried to reach out to him at the height of the Oplan Tokhang operation but he left their village.

“He hid and even village officials could not confirm his whereabouts,” Valencia said.

Police informants claimed they saw Ituriaga in Bakhaw, which was once regarded as Iloilo City’s drug haven.

The suspect is the brother-in-law of Wilmer Gomez, also a HVT drug personality.
