No one was injured but at least three stray bullet incidents were recorded during the New Year celebration in Western Visayas.

Unfortunately, not a single suspect was identified.

Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) spokesperson, said two of the incidents happened in Aklan province and one in Iloilo.

The incident at Barangay Linabuan, Kalibo, was discovered around 5 a.m. of Jan 1, 2022 after Mateo Rabiso noticed a hole on their roof. He reported the incident to the police four hours later.

The case in Numancia, Aklan was discovered 8 a.m. Saturday after the bullet penetrated the screen door of a house at Barangay Laguinbanwa.

Meanwhile, a caliber .45 ammunition slug was recovered from a house in Purok 2 Bayuyan, Estancia, Iloilo 12:10 a.m. of Jan 1.

Ronaldo dela Cruz claimed to have heard a thud on their roof before they saw the slug near the kitchen’s door.

Solis said they’re still investigating the three incidents but so far, they couldn’t pinpoint to any suspect.

All slugs recovered were turned over to the PNP Crime Laboratory for ballistic examination.

Solis said, though, that it would be challenge on their part if the guns used were not registered.

Last year, PRO-6 recorded zero stray bullet incident.
