A youth-led organization based in Dumarao, Capiz was chosen as one of top projects in Western Visayas by the Young House Heroes Initiative (YHHI) of the Positive Youth Development Network (PYDN).
Project Duag joined the YHHI after PYDN called for proposals in the Visayas Region last May 2020.
With the support of generous donors, Project Duag launched several initiatives that helped the youth, feeder school (and even other schools), and households in the far-flung communities of Dumarao town.
Their programs include:
A. EDU-AKSYON– The group’s flagship project where they send out modules to student-beneficiaries. The students are encouraged to get high points in the modules which they can exchange for rewards such as school supplies and hygiene kits. The beneficiaries are students in upland barangays of Dumarao.
B. PAG-AMLIG extends help to feeder schools and other schools by donating alcohol, face masks, school supplies, and spray bottles.
C. REFILL OPERATION The group visits beneficiary communities to refill empty alcohol bottles for free.
D. FREE FACE MASK FOR EBRI-JUAN donates free face masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
E. PAGPASIDUNGOG is a house-to-house awarding of medals and giving of reward in the form of hygiene kits to Grade 12 awardees. It is a simple way of extending appreciation for their hard work and perseverance.
F. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS is a digital contest where students share their thoughts or opinions about issues posted in Project Duag’s Facebook page. Lucky winners won free cellphone top-up load.
G. PAG- AMLIG version 2.0- In this version of “PAG-AMLIG”, the helped the Panay-Bukidnon community in Brgy. Aglalana, Dumarao, Capiz. The team of Project Duag provided Psychosocial Support to students and parents, introduced their flagship project “EDU-AKSYON”, and conducted an Information Drive.
