Prometheus’s ReCom extends help to COVID-affected businesses

Public relations firm and marketing agency, Prometheus launched its Reimagination Community (ReCom) program last week. The program offers free marketing services to COVID-affected businesses and is inspired by community pantries across the nation. Among dozens of applicants, the following three beneficiaries have been selected for the first wave.

Coastline 5023: UPV FTBI is a technology transfer and business development initiative of UP Visayas funded and supported by DOST- PCAARRD. It is a venue for dynamic interactions among the academe, the industry, and the private sector for promoting the creation of technology-based enterprises gearing towards inclusive economic growth.

Amjoe’s Food Products manufactures vegetable-based products such as Squash Pancit Canton, Squash Munch-Vegetable Crispy Sticks, Batuan Jam and others. The raw materials used in manufacturing the company’s products are harvested from the farms of the members of Miagao Farmer’s Association.

Chemon’s Ongyod Coffee Manufacturing produces and processes roasted and ground coffee beans. These beans are harvested from the highlands of Barangay Ongyod in the Municipality of Miagao. Chemon’s is advocating for the promotion of local coffee manufactured from the Miagao highlands to support local coffee farmers in the area.

These enterprises were selected for their impacts on the community being important sources of livelihood for farmers, fishermen, and tradesmen. Prometheus disclosed ongoing designs for strategies to help these institutions reach a wider audience with creative content, rebrand with new logos, and more.

Prometheus Executive Creative Director, Christine “Tintin” Jaylo has this to say on the selection: “We chose the applicants whom we felt could most benefit. They don’t get much attention but farmers and fisherfolk are among the most affected communities.”

When asked about other applicants, Tintin replied: “… making this announcement is bittersweet. We’re very happy with the turnout – but also sad that we can’t accommodate everyone. We know that everybody needs help during these trying times. We’ll do our best to assist more in the second wave.”

A second wave of beneficiaries is projected by July 2021. Eligible COVID-affected businesses may still apply for the Reimagination Community here: bit.ly/ReimaginationCommunity. Qualified applicants will receive an email informing them of such.
