Philippine volleyball icon Rachel Anne Daquis will be making a highly-anticipated comeback in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) after agreeing to a deal with the Farm Fresh Foxies franchise confirmed on October 25, 2024.

Daquis missed the whole 2024 playing season due to business and personal reasons and is already all-systems-go for the next conference of the PVL.

It was the Farm Fresh organization that announced the blockbuster news on their various social media pages, fortifying their already talented pool that is reeling to make a deep run to the playoffs.

“It’s been said a couple of times before: Farm Fresh needs a veteran outside hitter who can lead the team to greater heights. And that’s exactly what we got,” Farm Fresh posted.

Before making a temporary absence in the PVL, Daquis last rendered her services to the Cignal HD Spikers where she played six years under the franchise.

Despite not winning a single championship title with the HD Spikers, Daquis helped Cignal clinch the silver medal during the 2022 Reinforced Conference.

Aside from their best finish, Daquis also helped Cignal reach the semifinals four times and became their locker-room leader throughout her stint.

However, joining Farm Fresh will serve as a fresh start for the former Philippine team staple, and will still find her new role when the PVL season kicks off.

Farm Fresh already has a young and talented spikers’ pool, led by former UAAP champion Jolina Dela Cruz, Caitlin Viray, and rising star Trisha Tubu.

Before Daquis, Farm Fresh already made headlines after acquiring Filipina-American setter Alohi Robins-Hardy.

The veteran playmaker first took her talent to the PHL during the 2019 playing season of the now-defunct Philippine Superliga (PSL), with the United Volleyball Club-Cocolife.

After an impactful debut with Cocolife, several franchises began to court for her services, with the Cignal HD Spikers winning the lottery.

Robins-Hardy then quickly paid off the trust of the Cignal management after leading the club to a silver medal finish in the 2019 PSL All-Filipino Conference.

In the same conference, Robins-Hardy solidified her status as one of the best orchestrators in the country after winning the Best Setter of the Conference award.

Can Farm Fresh finally end their PVL post-season drought and begin a new era?
