AS PART of the preparation for the 2019 NCI-SRD Summit and Mid-Year Assessment and Operational Planning, members of the Regional Convergence Initiative (RCI) held a meeting recently to plan out the activities.
The RCI is composed of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and the provincial governments of Iloilo Province and Antique
The National Convergence Initiative for Sustainable Rural Development (NCI-SRD) was established through the issuance of the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 1 Series of 1999.
It created the interdepartmental Steering Committee and Technical Working Group for the application and monitoring a common Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) framework.
The NCI-SRD is strategy to help reduced poverty and enhance the implementation of sustainable rural development.
The meeting was led by ARD Livino B. Duran of Technical Services together with Planning and Management Division Chief Edna B. Locsin, Administrative Division Chief Ernest C. Federiso, Conservation Development Division Chief Danilo L. Lorilla.
