RELIABLE ELECTRICITY FOR ALL: MORE Power kicks off Ticud rehab works

MORE Power recently launched its rehabilitation works at Brgy. Ticud, LaPaz, Iloilo City last Dec. 10, 2021.

MORE Power’s Brgy. Ticud Rehabilitation is in line with Executive Order No. 156 issued by President Rodrigo Duterte, ordering the Department of Energy to boost its efforts to provide “consistent and reliable electricity service” to achieve total electrification in the Philippines.

This P2.1-million rehabilitation program aims to provide residents of Brgy. Ticud with stable supply of electricity after years of clamor for better service in the area.

After MORE Power found that the community had limited access to electricity, the company resolved to conduct a total overhaul of the power lines, which includes the installation of 23 concrete primary poles and 11 secondary poles in the area.

The distribution firm also installed three 50 kVa distribution transformers to beef up the areas load capacity.

MORE Power worked with the La Filipina Uygongco Group of Companies for the erection of posts to the nearest power source. Due to this, the company was able to tap from the La Filipina Uygonco’s primary lines, which traverses from their property in Brgy. Ingore, Lapaz to Brgy. Ticud, Lapaz.

The rehabilitation project by MORE Power will benefit and energize more than 625 households in Ticud.

“This is really our service in MORE Power. Regardless of where you are, it is our responsibility and commitment to give you the best service we can,” said Mr. Roel Castro, President and COO of MORE Power.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas also shared his appreciation for MORE Power’s efforts for Brgy. Ticud.

“This project by MORE Power is a gift to Brgy. Ticud. This gives the residents of Brgy. Ticud the gift of having stable electricity and the safety of having a legal connection,” he added.

Punong Barangay Jaboneta of Brgy. Ticud shared how after years of clamor for better electricity distribution services, it was MORE Power that finally made it possible.

“Damo na kita sang letter, resolution, request para magka-kuryente, pila na ka tuig ang nag agi, wala guid nag-materialize. Sang si MORE Power na, naging matuman na gid ang aton gin request,” he added.

MORE Power commits to work closely with the Department of Energy and bring their services closer to the Ilonggos, especially those in deprived areas of Iloilo City.
