Retailer nabbed for selling bottled fuel

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 29-year-old retailer was arrested by the police for illegally selling fuel in bottles.

The joint forces of Roxas City police and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) collared Leo Cuya of Lawaan village for violations of Presidential Decree 1865 (Illegal Trading of Petroleum Products) in Criminal Case No. 1930-M.

A bail of P30,000 was recommended by the court that issued his arrest warrant.

The suspect is presently detained at the Roxas City police station.

Meanwhile, police apprehended a truck loaded with logs Thursday afternoon on Rizal Street here for lack of valid papers to transport forest products.

According to Andy Laurilla, 48, and an agriculturist, he noticed the truck loaded with woods of different species.

When he checked the truck, he discovered that the driver, Leovar Diestro, 31, of Poblacion Sur lvisan, Capiz, had no transport clearance.

Because of this, Laurilla asked for police assistance and the truck and the woods were impounded by the Roxas City police.

Diestro was also arrested.
