One of the most celebrated football players in the country isn’t going anywhere.

The former Ceres-Negros FC team captain, Stephan Shrock, will stick with his old squad albeit under new management in the United City FC.

However, the Azkals legend will not play his usual role after being tapped by the United FC management as a playing assistant coach.

“Stephan will not only lead the team on the field as ‘captain’ but also off the field as a playing-assistant coach/trainer, as a first step to fulfill his ambition to become a fully certified football coach in the coming years,” said UCFC co-founder Eric Gottschalk.

Shrock is one of the players from the Busmen retained by UCFC and the newest club in the PFL announced that they will be confirming more signings within the upcoming weeks.

Despite multiple offers overseas, Shrock declined them and chose to stay with the club he has been playing for in the PH football professional league.

“Having Stephan commit to stay at the new club means a lot not just to the organization but also to the fans. He is the captain and the leader of the team and that is what is needed especially since we are trying to establish our new identity on and off the field,” added Gottschalk.
